Let There Be Light! Broadway Strike Ends!

The shuttered Broadway shows are scheduled to reopen Thursday after the union representing over 3000 stagehands reached a tentative agreement. The agreement has been called a "good compromise that serves [the] industry."

The strike lasted over two weeks and affected 26 shows. The financial effects of the strike have rippled through the city; most notably hurt were the restaurants in the Theater District. Though the strike has driven more theater-goers to Off-Broadway shows.

Go check out all of your favorite shows including "Wicked," "Jersey Boys," "Chicago," "Avenue Q," and "Spring Awakening."

Now if only the Writers Guild could reach an agreement all would be well.

So can theater-goers get tickets to some of the more populat shows over the next week or two or are the theaters exchanging shows cancelled due to the strike which will limit ticket availability for a while?

Hi Jon, If a theater-goer was holding tickets for a canceled performance, a refund was issued.

Tickets for performances are, for the moment, not limited… but discounted! Chicago has tickets available for tonight’s performance for the highly discounted price of $27! That is a great price for a show that features Vincent Pastore and Aida Turtrro (of “Soprano’s” fame) as Amos Hart and Matron Mama Morton.
