Photo: Full Lunar Eclipse

New Yorkers are at such a disadvantage when it comes to viewing acts of nature. We have so many tall buildings standing in the way!

I was able to snap a few shots of the eclipse; it’s amazing what you can do with a Canon digital camera in manual mode and a GorillaPod! Here are a few photos of what you may have missed.

Don’t feel bad if you didn’t catch last night’s lunar eclipse. In New York it was very cold and you’ll have a chance again in 2010.

    Beautiful!

I missed part of it because it was behind our apartment building and I couldn’t go out to see it since I had the kids in bed and my husband was out. I caught the end though.

I was disappointed that my five-year-old couldn’t see it but I was happy when they mentioned on the news that it happens again in 2010, so at least I can show her then!

    Great photos!

I watched it here in Seattle, but no photos that turned out. Must look into that gorilla pod!

The GorillaPod is the best! It attaches to anything and is so lightweight for carrying.

Came for the lunar eclipse photos, but have a comment about the GorillaPod too though – my lost its elasticity and doesn’t hold on very well any more, so hooray to the lunar eclipse photos, and boo to GorillaPod. :)

Oh no! I’ve only had my GorillaPod since December, so I will have to watch out for that!

Thanks for the info, Hank, and for checking out the photos!
