Transportation Round-Up: Getting Into, Out Of, and Around New York City
New York City is huge and there are so many transportation options it’s hard to keep track of all of them. Here is a round-up of all of the transportation options I have covered in the last six months:
Airport Transport:
- Kennedy International (JFK)-to-Manhattan
- LaGuardia (LGA)-to-Manhattan
- Newark (EWR)-to-Manhattan
- JFK-to-LaGuardia
- Westchester Airport (HPN)-to-Manhattan
- Long Island MacArthur (ISP)-to-Manhattan
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)-to-Manhattan
Getting Into and Out Of Manhattan:
- New York City-to-The Hamptons
- New York City-to-Boston on the BoltBus
- New York City-to-Boston on the Fung Wah (Chinatown) Bus
- New York City-to-Washington DC on the BoltBus
- New York City-to-Toronto, Ontario, Canada on NeON

I have always found getting to and around New York City relatively easy (except maybe when there are thunder storms rolling through). My challenge has always been figuring out where to stay.
I found a great resource at http://www.nyc.com. There hotels page (http://www.nyc.com/hotels/) offers a lot of really neat features that I find very helpful.
First they have a very good New York Centric searching capability (you can pick neighborhoods or attractions). They also have very extensive mapping capabilities and a street view capability (which appears to be unique to them) that allows you to take a look at the neighborhood of the hotel…
I would highly recommend nyc.com’s hotel section.
