Most people have things in their life that they’ve always wanted to do, but for some reason, have never gotten around to doing. I’m no different.
There are all sorts of reasons for putting off these experiences. Some are pretty valid reasons — affordability, time, or physical limitations. Some are not so valid reasons — procrastination, braggadocio, or unwillingness to put forth the effort.

If you head out to Coney Island this weekend you may think that Hollywood is recreating the classic Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah film Splash.  Alas, they are not.  The mermaids swimming ashore and marching down the street are part of the annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade.
Celebrate the sand, the sea, and the mythological mermaid at this parade of artistic self-expression. Aah yes… spring is just around the corner.  The daffodils and tulips are beginning to peek out of the ground and the once-dormant grass is again growing.  Spring also means a new schedule of foraging tours in Central Park led by Steve “Wildman” Brill.  Usually, New York City and nature are not two words that are synonymous, but Brill, a self-taught naturalist, is changing that and showing New Yorkers the incredible eco-diversity that can be found in the city.

Though it sounds like a place for cheap thrills, don’t let the name deceive you— The Museum of Sex (MoSex) is more museum than sex.
This Manhattan institution is where you will find historical artifacts and displays on prostitution, burlesque, obscenity and fetishism that were once too controversial to be displayed in their own day.
