The Manhattan skyline is one of the most recognizable in the world. Whether view from an airplane as you are flying in, from Central Park, the top of the Empire State Building, or from a downtown ferry, the New York architecture is some of the most photographed around.

This photo was taken while on a ferry ride out to see the Statue of Liberty.

Between Manhattan and Queens lies a sliver of land, Roosevelt Island.  The island is primarily residential, but taking the Roosevelt Island Tram on a round-trip is a fun way to see the city in a whole new angle.

There was a rumor going around that the Naked Cowboy has gotten too big for his britches (figuratively speaking, of course) and was no longer the Times Square fixture he once was.  Fear not, even after appearing in a Chevrolet commercial and filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Mars (the company that makes M&Ms), he performs for the masses that adore him.  Here is the Naked Cowboy, doing what he does best, just a few weeks ago in Times Square.

An unnamed Keith Haring mural that enjoyed a brief life on the Lower East Side in the 1980s has returned in all of its DayGlo glory.  The mural was recreated by using photographs of the original mural that Haring, a New York artist, painted, then shortly thereafter painted over.  Haring died of AIDS at the age of 31 in 1990 and the new mural is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Haring’s birth.  The mural is located on a large piece of concrete at the corner of Bowery and Houston (map).  You won’t miss it… it’s bright!
